I'm kinda late with this one, but I'm determined to keep this series going, dammit. Looking back at my images from October, it seems that I more or less practiced two distinct types of photography in that month: birds, and urban landscapes.
These birds were mostly photographed in Prospect Park, though a few, including the monk parakeets and my very first kestrel were shot at Green-Wood Cemetery. Also, I evidently have a thing for Eastern phoebes, since I unintentionally selected three separate photos of them for this collection.
This is kind of my “everything else” collection from October. I shot some NYC landmarks, which involved a couple of excursions over to New Jersey. The first few are from one evening when I went over to Jersey City to shoot the full moon over the skyline, only to be thwarted by substantial cloud cover. The Statue of Liberty images are from a morning jaunt over to Liberty State Park. I planned the position of the sun and the alignment with the crown of the statue using Photopills.
The remaining images are of some motorcycle club members, who had just finished a huge fundraising ride in support of fighting cancer.
That’s it for October - which are your favorites?
